Fernando Tapias Stahelin
Fernando Tapias Stahelin was Zehirut Group’s president from 2011 until 2015, and the Chief Senior advisor for Defense and strategic security. General Tapias was the advisor for various governments, and has directed different conferences in Transnational Organized Crime, Drug Trafficking, Money Laundering, Restructuring of Military Forces, and Leadership among others. General Tapias served in different boards of directors such as Anditel, COTECMAR, Satena, Hotel Tequendama and United for Colombia among others.
Mr. Tapias Stahelin served as Colombian Chairman of Joint Chief of Staff for the Military Forces between the years of 1998 and 2002, and Deputy Minister of Defense in the Colombian Defense Minister during 2009 and 2010. Under his leadership a successful reorganization program was designed, and implemented within Colombian Military Forces.
Mr. Tapias Stahelin was part of the negotiation team, and subsequent design and implementation of the first phases of Plan Colombia. Throughout his 40 years of military career, General Tapias received 53 military awards including the U.S. Medal of Merit (twice) and the French Legion of Honor.
